I see your competitors advertise "least toxic insecticide" and you advertise "least toxic methods". What's the difference?
"Least toxic insecticide" implies organic, safe or a pesticide label with a caution statement. Let's all be on the same page, every company in our industry uses the same products, we have the same choice of liquids, dusts, baits and granules. In fact, many of us purchase from the same distributors. Advertising 'least toxic" is a play on words to imply safety. The important part about the products we use is not the product itself, but how it is used. At Envirocare we always take a common sense approach to our services. We inspect, identify the pest, make recommendations, apply materials only where needed and then follow up with an inspection and additional applications if needed. If you have questions about pesticides, we encourage you to talk with a manager prior to service. We want you to be comfortable with our service approach and philosophy.
How much does pest control cost?
| We have made all of our service programs affordable, we don't
charge more just because you live in a big house or a nice
neighborhood. For example, our Quarterly Smart Step Program starts at
about $80.00 for a regular quarterly visit. |
| If I have your Smart Step Quarterly service program and I have a
pest problem between visits, how much is that service? |
Absolutely free for all covered pests.
Do ultrasonic pest control devices work?
| I obviously have never used one, but I would encourage you to
visit the Federal Trade Commission web site and type in "ultrasonic pest
control". You can find the site at www.ftc.gov.com. They have or had
pursued litigation against at least one manufacturer in the
past. |
I have a cat, can he/she take care of a rodent problem?
Our feline friends will put a dent in a mouse population, but since most cats do not rely on hunting for food mice are little more than play things to them. I have yet to meet any domestic or feral cat that can take care of a rat population.
Why should I have Envirocares' Smart Step Quarterly Service?
Our Smart Step Program is designed to not only provide service for the pests you are currently seeing, but also to prevent the home from becoming re infested in the future. This program also provides services for more than just one pest. If you have a rodent problem in the winter and an ant problem in the summer, both are covered for one small regular fee. A bargain any way you cut it.
Do I have to leave the house with the kids and pets when you come to my home?
No, we only ask that you keep the children and pets in a different room while service is being provided. Past experience tells us children love bugs and they love to help. We ask that you use all the same precautions that you would as if any contractor were in the home. As for the pets, we ask that you have your pet inside when we are outside and outside or in a secure room when we are inside. Our technicians are all very familiar with safety procedures and will tell you if they need you not to be in a particular area.
Do the products you use smell?
No, we use low to no odor products.
Why do some companies give termite bids over the phone and Envirocare doesn't?
The truthful answer is we don't know. There are so many variables that go into a reasonably priced and successful termite treatment that you have a 50/50 chance of being either overcharged or under serviced with these types of companies. We offer a free termite inspection at which time we will tell you the exact cost of a termite service. See our blog for a real life situation that happened in the spring of 09'.
Why should I NOT clean up rodent droppings?
Rodent droppings from the deer mouse have the potential to carry hantavirus a severe and possibly fatal upper respitory infection. Call our office to speak with a supervisor about proper procedures.
Is your service discreet?
Yes, we do not sell our email lists, customer lists, technicians wear uniforms and although our trucks are lettered there is no large bug on the roof that lets the neighbors know we are at your home.
Do you have references?
Yes, but remember no one is eager to tell another person that they have a pest problem. For this reason our references are written testimonials. Our company is also one of the few pest control firms in the state designated QualityPro. Please visit www.npma.org for more information about this highly sought after certification.
Do you have insurance and are you licensed?
Yes, we have liability, auto and workmen's compensation insurance all above state minimum requirements.
I have rodents, what happens if Envirocare uses rodenticide and my pets eat a dead animal or the bait?
We love animals and would never do anything that would harm them. We use Contrac Blox rodenticide which has an antidote of vitamin K1. Should an accident happen a veterinarian should be contacted so that this product can be administered. As for second hand poisoning from a dead rodent, it is very rare with Contrac Blox. We can use alternative methods if you still are uncomfortable.
Is Envirocare family owned or a large national company?
We are locally owned and operated and we proudly have 14 continuous years of operation under the ownership of David Bisaillon SR.
